Yowza! I found just the thing to wet your appetite for this summer's big-screen AVENGERS movie! Here is my swingin' 1976 illustration of the mighty assemblers in mind-bursting battle action! The gang's all here! Not only Captain America, but Iron Man, and those sensational and sexy (?) super-heroines, Hellcat and (a very large) Scarlet Witch! What do ya want from an 11-year-old me?! Sheesh! At least I was quite forward-thinking, adding the high-flying Falcon a full three years before he'd be officially added to the team! Click to enlarge!

A Loving Portrait of Mr. Jim Wilson and--THE HULK?! 1978 Albert Bigley Art?! Marvel Comics!?
Ahh, what's better than a break from the usual mile-high mayhem here on this site, than a nice, quiet, and simple portrait of a young man and his dear friend? Here is a staid and sober pencil drawing done by me, at age 13 (1978), of the ever-Incredible Hulk, in a tender clinch with long-time pal, Jim Wilson. Feel the serious and tranquil vibes emanating from this peaceful, but heavy, scene of brotherhood and sincerity. Jim was then a major supporting player in the HULK comic, one of the few African-American characters, and would later even be revealed to be a relative of Sam Wilson (TheFalcon)! One of the few folks Hulk could call his friend in those turbulent days! Click to enlarge and relax!

The AVENGERS! 1980 Albert Bigley Original Comic Art! Captain America! Marvel Comics?!
Sheesh! Moving forward a bit to 1980, here is my huge (around 12 by 17 inches!) family portrait of the Avengers, as drawn by me, age 15! I loved this period of the book, coming off it's incredible 70s run, and still featuring great George Perez art, and a stellar line-up of Marvel superheroes, including the Falcon! Note the small details in the background of this piece, including the Hulk (founding member) and Jarvis portraits, Cap's mug, etc.! I still had a looong way to go! Click to enlarge!

1974 Albert Bigley CAPTAIN AMERICA Art?! Power Records Live Again!
Inspired by the then-recent release of the Power Records version of CAPTAIN AMERICA #168, here is MY 1974 version of the same power-packed cover! Even at age 9, I always dug the character design for not only Cap, but his hip partner, the Falcon, too, as well as the evil Phoenix (even contemplating a Phoenix Halloween costume for that year-but went out in a home-made Cap outfit instead)! The original cover (right) sports great art by the vastly underrated Sal Buscema! Click images to enlarge!
