HOW TO DRAW THE MARVEL WAY! The Cover Rough! John Buscema!

At last! Take a gander below to see the riotous rough sketch for the earth-shaking HOW TO DRAW COMICS THE MARVEL WAY book, from 1978! Scribbled by big John Buscema, the colorful sketch hews very close to John's final version, with noticeable alterations to the book's title itself (why not hype Marvel's own artistic method then, since, at the time, it was Marvel's singular and exciting approach to comics storytelling that put them ahead of stodgy old DC Comics, their main competitor)! Click below to enlarge!

Above, left: John Buscema's rough color sketch for the cover to this teaching
tome, and (right), the published version! Tho "how to draw comics" instructional
books are now ubiquitous (heck, I've authored one), this book (the only of
its kind then) rocked my world in late 1978, when I was a 13-year-old fan,
desperately wanting a career in comics, and eager to have a few inside
secrets spilled! Big thanks to Brian Peck for this one!
