1967 ABC TV COMICS! Spidey! Fantastic Four! Batman! Flying Nun?!

What do we have here?! It's the rare 1967 Marvel Comics-produced ABC TV Comics! Produced to hype the then-new line of Saturday morning and evening shows on ABC (duh), this comic contains some darned strange little gems!

New TV cartoons featuring Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four are represented by reprints from their original Marvel comic book printings, but features such as KING KONG and GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE are seen here with all-new comic strips! Oddest of all, tho, are these full-page ads for such forgotten live-action shows as THE SECOND HUNDRED YEARS. Some look to be drawn by Gene Colan, George Tuska, and other famous comics artists! Take a look at that odd ad for the 3rd season of BATMAN! A DC Comics character being hyped in a Marvel mag?! If ABC asks...

Tuska definitely drew the Custer ad. Most of the other work pictured looks to be by John Tartaglione.

Tuska clearly drew the Batman ad also. Look at the bad guy's face. Years later, of course, Tuska would become the regular artist on the WORLD'S GREATEST SUPERHEROES comic strip which prominently featured the Caped Crusader.
