1978 PIZZAZZ Spider-Man TV Article! Nick Hammond!





Laugh all you want, but I dug the 1977-79 SPIDER-MAN show. In those days WAY before big-budget Marvel movies, you had to really stretch your imagination to fit the much more exciting comics version, but....an "A" for effort. The first 9/77 pilot movie (now 32 years ago!) did a good job matching the feel of the early Stan Lee and Steve Ditko SPIDEY years...Not so much afterwards, but....

As a kid, I thought Hammond was a great Peter Parker. I was totally depressed--sick to my stomach bummed--if I missed an episode. No fancy VCR or Tivo back then.

Right! I recall WAITING so long to catch that Wednesday night premier in '77. The only heads-up you got was a brief mention in Stan Lee's "Bullpen Bulletins" and the next week's TV GUIDE!
